The South Jersey Region and New Jersey Motorsports Park announce the sixth running of The Devil in the Dark 12 Hour endurance race on NJMP's Thunderbolt Circuit. The 2015 edition will be held on Saturday, 25 April 2015 and will again run from noon to midnight. There will be an SCCA Test Day on Friday, 24 April for 12 Hour competitors and other closed wheel cars.
This race is a continuation of the successful events run in the past five years. The format and rules will be very similar to last year with a no major changes from previous years' events. The open refueling rule is being retained as well as the consolidated endurance classes introduced in 2012. There may be some fine tuning of the endurance classes. If you missed The Devil last year, be sure to put it on your calendar for this year. We are expecting over 50 entries in this year's edition.
The entry package will be posted on the DLB online registration system in a week or so. Registration will open on 1 February 2015.
More participants, more fun in 2015!

Mike
Thanks for inquiring. The pit open / closed procedure will certainly be clarified in this year's Supps. It will conform to the procedure adopted in last year's race.
See ya at The Devil

Terry,
Any idea when supps will be up? ....or direct me to them if I'm blindly missing them?
Looking forward! From talking to friends it sounds like 2015 could be a record turnout.

The Schedule and Supps for The Devil in the Dark 2015 have been posted on DLB . Registration will be open on 1 February.
The Supps are essentially the same as last year's event. There are a couple of minor operational changes to address problems which arose in the 2014 race.
There are no changes in the endurance classes. In addition to the variety of SCCA, NASA, BMW and Porsche classes, there are three LeChump classes for ChumpCar and LeMons as well as the NEDiv class Spec Miata Tire (SMT) - for Spec Miatas with a wider selection of tires.
Hope to see ya at The Devil

Fidelity Power Systems has stepped up to help sponsor this year's 12 Hour endurance race. Again this year they will be providing the diesel power floodlights which illuminate the front straight and Start / Finish. Even though a significant amount of the race is run after dark, a certain amount of light is required for our Timing & Scoring operations.
In recognition of Fidelity's support, the region has named the event The Devil in the Dark Illuminated by Fidelity Power Systems.
This year, Fidelity will be represented in the race by the 05 Nissan 300ZX in the E2 class. The team will be led by long time Pro IT competitor Jim Slechta. If you get a chance during the race, stop by the Fidelity pit and thank Jim for his support.
In addition to the 12 hour, Fidelity has been the sponsor of the Fidelity Power Systems Pro IT Series since 2013. The series featuring the Improved Touring and Spec Miata classes is contested at several track here in the Northeast.
See ya at The Devil

We apologize for any inconvenience

There was close competition in all class throughout the event. Unfortunately a couple of the E1 challengers had mechanical problems around dusk and were not able to fully recover. The overall lap count was lower than last year and reflects the diminished competition in the E1 class. The race was run in sunny but cool weather. There was one race stoppage for an extensive oil spill but otherwise the event ran smoothly.
The South Jersey Region would like to thank everyone who participated in the Sixth Annual Devil in the Dark and would like to invite everyone to the Seventh Annual running on 23 April 2016 - Save the Date.

Thanks to Elgin Racing and Meathead - the Boss 302R was a rocket. Huge improvements in the handling department. So much fun to drive!
Full disclosure: SMAC chairman, my opinions do not reflect anything to do with the SMAC unless specifically stated.

Great event.
2nd step on the podium for us again, this time in E4. Toyo RR was good as an enduro tire, and we ran competively in our $6000 1.6 SM2 car. We had decided to run this year as a "fun run" and with 6 drivers, we certainly had some fun. We had a father/son combo as well as a rookie and aside from an inadvertent fuel spill, a pretty uneventful race. Many thanks to all the workers and volunteers!
