so I need some measurements for my car. I dont have my car on me (its 200 miles away) by the way. I need dimensions for where the 10mm bolts go for the shifter's rubber insulator. If any of you have your race cars  on you please measure this for me. I want to fab a custom shift boot out of some flexible material i have down here at my shop. Mine broke

If you race in the SCCA please find the rule which allows a home made shifter boot.

didnt find a rule that doesnt allow it. Plus i am using fire retardant material....since i see tons of SM guys using mesh nets which are not SFI i doubt this is an issue...but for the sake of politics this is for my not scca race car that i race in some other place.

Your point 1, please understand within the SCCA if there is not a rule that says you can do something, then you can't do that something.

Your point 2, if these folks your talking about are racing SCCA they are not legal unless they have a window net with an SFI label. Date not required.

Your point 3, do what you wish when your acing outside the SCCA.

You'll find most folks that use this site race either SCCA or NASA. Rules are very similar.

Ron, don't go there, just trying to help out what  appears to be an outlaw racer. :rotfl:

by that same logic i shouldnt be allowed to install oem rubber insulators or aftermarket shift boots.... so lets have everyone remove these parts right now OR if anyone doesnt have this they all fail tech..... calling me an "outlaw racer" is beyond disrespectful you might as well say that to all the SM guys that were DQ in laguna...and then some.... but of course you wont do that because they are the front runners and double standards are ok as long as they are famous because they can pour over 50k into their SM
