Last time I was there was right after the reconstruction and the pavement was tearing up some tires. It's been two years now so maybe it's a stupid question but has it improved? I plan on going in April and I'm low on tires (and $$) and don't want to tear up my best set.

No, it still goes through tires faster then any other track in FL. It's not "that" bad, but if you have an old set that has been through several heat cycles and is harder because of it, that will probably be better than using a new set. Also, when the track was fresh we were using the R888's, which sucked in there own right, so it has gotten better in that respect.
