Looks like we are going to have a great turnout. 15 signed up already and I know of a few more that are dragging their feet to sign up.

I haven't seen the schedule yet but I can bet that traffic management will be key as there are a large group of E30s and 944s that will slow us down ;-)

Weather is looking iffy so be sure to keep the rain tires on the car as an anti-rain dance.

Looking forward to the race as well.  I think we'll have dry weather, so you can leave the rain tires behind :optimist:  Steve is getting his front sub frame changed so he should be good to go.

Awesome. Not so happy about the the third race group. Last I checked they only had 13 cars and that reduces our races to 30 minutes. Not sure the "Tornado" group is really justified when you have 50+ in the Lightning group. Most of those are between the Spec Miata's and Spec E30s

I was thinking the same thing.  SE added the Tornado group for less than 15 cars on track and reduced the race time for everyone's by 15 minutes for each race.  I can understand the desire to have the thunder roadsters in a class where they don't get bumped & hammered by other heavier cars, but it seems to me almost all the wrecks I've seen them in are from thunder roadsters hitting each other.

15 minute Qual / 30 race minute on Sat. (plus 15 minute 'warm up') and another 15 minute Qual/30 minute race on Sunday makes me think next year is time to go to SCCA.

I totally agree. It's sad because I do love the laid back and fun atmosphere that NASA-SE has but dollar per minute on track is going the wrong way.

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Looks like the only options for addition comp time is TT or PTD with the Thunder group. Can't say I want to deal with the high hp traffic in Thunder.

At CMP I thought it made sense to have the Thunder Roadsters run in Thunder.  That seemed to balance out the run group numbers.  And from looking at the RA registrations it looks like it would work well there as well.
