Looks like I can add another great invention to the list of items that I put off only to discover later that it was solid gold. Appreciate the honest input. If it will help me drive like DS, then I want one.

If you wanna make your own....complete with McMaster-Carr parts list:

I made a shirt, originally. Then I got fat, and bought a real shirt. Then I got skinny, now I can wear either one. :-) Both work, one of them looks slightly less dorky...when the race suit is tied around my waist.

I didn't lose, I just got outspent!
I followed Brian G's instructions and bought someone's aborted project parts to build mine. If anyone want to build one with the "coolsuit" connectors (bought from McMaster Carr) instead of the FAST connectors, let me know as I have set I don't need. I'll make you a good deal!
My instructions are based on brian's, as well (credit is given at the top of the article). I made a couple of minor tweaks, took more pictures, and included an actual, complete parts list with part numbers.

An even easier DIY coolsuit option is the "donjoy" type medical units found on ebay for less than 50$. They have the cooler, hoses and an adjustable temp controller and even better than that they connect right to most coolshirts.

I used one for 5 years and never had any problems.
Sorry I couldn't actually help you but maybe someone in the future.
I just purchased the Donjoy, how do you guy get it to work on 12 volts? is there a convertor or a special plug you can buy?

The pump is 12V. The Power cord/wall wart converts 120VAC to 12-ish volts DC. Just cut off the wall wart and connect it to the battery/switched 12V

I must of been exhausted from the Devil in the Dark...I could of sworn it said 6 volts not 12....However I just read it again and you are right.
Thanks!

If you only use half of the strands in the Vbatt wire you'll get 6 volts.

I would power the unit with water on the bench before, so you can determine pos neg wires as they are not marked. I ran mine with a simple on off switch.
