My car came with the heater core bypassed, and after a couple of rain races where I could hardly see, I've got an off-season project to reconnect it.
Does anyone have any good tips on the best way to test the heater core before I try to connect it? Any easy way to pressure test it?
I'd rather not end up with a footwell full of water if it's leaky...

My first thought is to use a leakdown tester with the input pressure set to 20psi, and hook that up to one of the heater core pipes while plugging the other. Just not sure if the leakdown orifice is small enough to show a small leak...

Hook up the hoses and see if it leaks really bad. Use a radiator pressure tester to confirm that it holds under pressure.
