No idea where I will end up with this car.. but we are going to start..
I have had the same car ( silver 93 Rx7 converted to full R1 specs since early 95, car has 54,000 miles on it that I will likely never sell.) It was my first real DE car and has always been my favorite car, but I hate rotaries. So I decided to find a donor to build into a race car.  I am going to be 50 soon, I figured this may be my old man racing car as I have to think my SM skills wont last through my 50's. 
 
Not sure if we will be 2.0 MZR in STL or 2.3-2.5 MZR or 2.5 KL V6 engine in STU.. Not sure where we will settle out on weight etc. I bombed the STAC with several letters asking for options.  
Going to the cage shop tomorrow...  Going to build this as time permits, hopefully we will make Mid Ohio, but no promises.

Funny, A few weeks ago I was approached by a guy who wanted to buy my VVT Miata so he could install a rotary engine and run one of those classes. You guys would make a great team!

Nick Leverone built a fun Rotary powered STL Miata for his customer and when driven by a wheelman (Nick) it is a serious contender on tracks where its not all about HP (Daytona). I think Nick one the Majors title in this car with an almost perfect score 1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1

  I am going to be 50 soon, I figured this may be my old man racing car as I have to think my SM skills wont last through my 50's.

I have always loved that style RX7.  I think it's a beautiful design.  I can't believe it's 22 years old!

I had a metallic blue mica 94 RX7 with the R1 package.  The dumbest car move i ever made was to sell it and buy a BMW.  I still regret that today.

I still have mine.  I've de-tuned it now that I don't do track days with it.  Still a blast to drive, look at and play with.

The most visually pleasing car Mazda ever built. Shame that very few were sold and fewer still exist today.
