I am curious if anyone has experimented with alternative Torsen differential fluids, or friction modifiers to tweak the torque bias ratio (TBR) on the differentials?  I understand that the bulk of the TBR is driven primarily by the helical leads cut on the side gears and parallel planetary gears, but its ability to distribute a torque imbalance is still dependent on friction, which can be modified.

Do not think you will notice a material difference but according to http://torsen.info/fsae/fsaefaq.htm some minor adjustment to TBR can be had.  I think friction modifiers are the sole domain of clutch pack style differentials.

I'm sure someone who actually has experience with this will speak up.

You don't have to "notice" it, you only have achieve faster lap times. :) I suspect that anyone who has likely experienced with this, is probably keeping that tribal knowledge to themselves for a competitive advantage, whether that advantage is real or just perceived.

But! ... but! .... the Muppet-like creatures failed to explain why we don't read, type, and print everything in Landscape!

Why won't my screen stop rotating!?!?

Make it stop ;)

Because we are all planets revolving around the Sun that is the "entertainment video" (e.g. "movie theater") industry.   :optimist:   Beyond the shape of the wall at the movie theaters and the cameras that are built to film for those "screens", what is good about "wide screen" format?  People love watching movies with me (ahem) because I always point out when the "wide" format has resulted in chopping off the actors upper portion of his head.  I mean, really, what is good about viewing the Eiffel tower or a standing human or a SuperBowl Hail Mary in overly wide 16:9 format?  Doesn't it feel like you are looking out of a tank (or a newer Camaro)?

I already tortured Wasilko with a picture of my work monitor, which swivels "vertically", since 90% of what I deal with are documents created and provided in "Portrait" 8.5"x11" format.  It is nice seeing those documents LARGER than they would be printed out, rather than stuffed into the gun slit of 16:9.

Meanwhile, the human field of view (both eyes, not moving) is much squarer than 16:9 - and with our eyes moving but our head still, we still see up and down better than left and right - especially true for Lamb and I with our prodigious beaks that cut off the outboard eye's view at a fairly small angle.  :help:

Moreover, when it comes to smartphone navigation, the reach of the thumb is a key factor - particularly when taking a "one-handed" video.  Now, this isn't a problem for smartass Jim Henson wannabes using a tripod for their YouTube puppet video - but if you are using a smartphone and trying to start and stop the recording AND "tap" the center-ish areas of the screen to refocus it, it can matter.

And finally - as I just noticed with the video I'm about to post in a few minutes - even when I take a "Landscape" video, if I am aiming down at a workbench, it seems the iPhone flips it back to "vertical" sometimes - but not always?  I suspect it has to do with the accelerometer readings when the recording is begun? The good news is I have just learned how to fix this in YouTube post-upload!  So you don't have to worry about VS anymore, LOL!

Still ... I want you to think of this every time you are watching a "movie" and there is a lone actor on screen with the top of their head chopped off.  :hatchet:

TL;DR:  Bennett hates widescreen format, and sometimes the iPhone turns horizontal vids into vertical ... :cheerful:
