My car's got a rear defroster in the hard top, but it's not hooked up to anything. Can I just provide a switched 12V and ground or is there something more complex than that?

There is a relay and some other stuff in the trunk iirc. Search on Miata.net it's been done and isn't too hard (but is more than power and ground).
