Trying to check timing for the first time on my 99. I've tried 2 different guns (one brand new) with no luck. I've got the red lead on the alternator bolt and the black on an intake bolt. I'm getting a spark so I know I've got a good connection. Have the lead on the #1 wire. Pull the trigger and no light.

Help.

Got it. For the next dope like me, I was pinching the wire in the jaws of the induction clamp. The wire needs to pass through the hole created by the jaws when they are shut.
