MXL Pista dash, appears my USB cable needs repairing (again). Thinking of switching to this, curious if it's reliable before I drop $100+

The memory keys work great, but I think they download a little slower than the dash does. You could also add a regular USB port for download by using this http://www.aim-sport...accessories.htm and plugging it into the USB connector off your current harness.

The bayonet connector on the dash and cable is a weak point on the gen 1 mxl. Especially when the mxl is mounted in place of the cluster. Make a cable using a binder 719 connector and connect via the usb connector on the harness instead. We usually just zip tie the harness usb cable to the roll cage door hoop for easy access.

Thanks for the quick replies / solutions.  (And for future reference / searches, here's the wiring diagram for Mark's solution http://www.aim-sport...VO3 MXL_eng.pdf

This is a very nice solution, Connects to the USB in the harness of older MXL's and of course the new MXL2, MXG, and MXS displays. Then you can use a USB to mini USB cable that are available everywhere.
