There was great action on the track for sure and that was the first time I'd experienced the split: Racers in the Pro Paddock, HPDE across the track. I liked that a lot: we all had plenty of space to stretch our legs. Big props to DeVinney for the Spec Miata / Spec E30 Love Fest; great beverages & we all had some laughs getting to talk racing, life & how Taco Mac makes their waitresses go to "Beer School."
I'm still sorting my "new" car...working out teething problems can be frustrating but I appreciate everyone's help & patience. Ryan from OPM found a bad engine ground & whipped up a fix in less time than I could drink a Sweetwater 420. We found a vacuum leak too. That helped a lot, but the car still feels flat...and Road Atlanta shows that more than anywhere else we run.
Hope to see everyone again soon.

Thanks, Hammer. We had a good time with the post-race free beer. My hope is that we can continue to have clean races like the ones this weekend. Close, aggressive driving - but at the same time courteous when the other class leaders are coming through. Good stuff.

Granted, the sample size was small again, but the results are pretty balanced.
I continue to have concerns that the weight for the 99+ cars may be too low to accommodate existing builds with large fire bottles and cool suits. We will continue to monitor the as-raced weights.
Post Race Tech
On Saturday, we checked the top 4 cars for plate, weight, VIN-corresponding-to-year, and front track (but I realized after a few measurements that the rule is not written in a manner that can be easily teched - I'll work on that). I had a whole list of other stuff to check after Sunday's race but due to miscommunication by the folks at the scales only 2 of the top 4 showed up at the tech area. It was a little confusing because we were using the pro pits and trying to do everything along the fence.
I hope all the participants had fun. Everyone put their cars on the trailer in the same condition (well, Hammer's car actually improved) and that is my goal!
Congrats to Cliff on the sweep!!

I can see Cliffie getting near the weight limit - he isa short sh!t and more than 50 lbs lighter than I am !!! The Cliffie can wheel a car at Road Atlanta - if he was doing that sort of time with a 37mm plate we have no chance this weekend at the Nationals!!! Yikes! Cliffmeister !@$%#&!!!!

Yes, Cliff was driving his red 99. Funny thing about the plates this weekend - both Cliff and Skip were checked in impound for plates. Both were running the required plates.... and both of those plates belong to me.

Anybody else need to borrow anything?
PS - In my defense, I tried to lure you into running this past weekend as practice for the Nationals this weekend...

Last time I checked, mine had been loaned out to a fellow racer. If there is one on my car, you are welcome to it!Stevey D - Thanks for the clarification.
