Just replaced the ball joint boots and the outer tie rod end boots on my spares for the track today. Easiest thing I've done in a long time. I made two quick install tools out of PVC pipe. The boots have a metal ring in the end that makes them hard to put on but not with these tools and a press or vise. I used a 1" pipe coupling for the tie rod ends and 1 1/2" pipe for the ball joint boots. Grind a little taper on the inside end of the end that will be in contact with the boot. Then after cleaning and repacking the joint with grease simply slide the PVC over the boot, lay a small plate across the top opening of the tool and press them straight on with an arbor press or a vise.
