Absolutely! BTW, congrats on a 2nd in a very strong field, and to Selin & Chris of course. I trust that Michael's and Todd's cars were OK and they will be back in the mix tomorrow.
What are you using for the live stream and how is it mounted?
Todds car should be ok, he just got turned. My car was loosing the front right hub and I wasn't sure how many laps we had left so I pulled in not wanting to hurt the car for 10th place. Had they actually given a 1 to go or white flag i would have finished. All fixed ready to try again in a little bit.

A HUGE shoutout to Selin Rollan for his win at VIR yesterday, clinching the SE Majors Championship. Tyler Kicera and Chris Haldeman for the podium finishes. After breaking the yoke on the drive shaft in qualifying, I started from 14th place. I made up a few places, screwed up, made up a few more places, screwed up, and finally made up a few more places to finish 10th, mainly due to the carnage up front. Will be starting from 14th again today, so here's to hoping that I can drive without being a dumbass!

SM has pulled off quite a few pretty clean races lately, which is great to see. I'm not sure about other events but in Atlanta there were a lot of black flags and cleanup delays for other run groups, especial SRF, but I don't recall even a double yellow lately for SM.

After a decent start (where I accidentally squeezed Blake who I didn't see) I moved from 14th to 6th by turn 7. I then promptly drove off at the entry to Oak Tree, narrowly missing putting my car in the tires. Restarted in 32nd place, found Michael Ross who must have done something similar and together we had a blast moving from the 30's into the top 10. Thanks for making a crappy day way more fun Michael, it was a blast running with you. I will post video of this fun run when I get a moment.
Congrats to all the podium finishers, and especially to Selin for winning the Championship and to OPM Teammate Blake Clements for nailing down 2nd place.
Not my finest weekend at all, but I did manage a podium and track record in STL in my MX-5. However despite running a 2:09.2 on Sunday, the record was eclipsed by the Honda's. Just a word to anyone wanting to compete in STL, you are going to need a front wheel drive Honda the way the rules are written. While the MX-5 can make up time in the turns, it just cannot compensate for the lack of torque and extra weight it carries. I can run similar lap times to the Honda's in clean traffic, but cannot race with them as they park it in the turns and I exit with no momentum and they just squirt away into the distance. A bit like an NA 1.6 competing with 99's and VVT's.

I think I remember someone mentioning that to you IMO, you have a tough road ahead as you have the heaviest version of the miata/mx5 which still is not fast enough to even draft pass and deep brake a decent Honda. You lose much of the handling advantage with the excessive weight you are forced to carry as well. You will do reasonably well at all tracks, win some of the more handling type tracks. But it will struggle to be on "equal" footing IMO with the current rules. Me/my car doing so well in the beginning skewed the results a little bit. Much of my success was attributed to " A Miata is just better than the sum of all its parts." When you consider Cliff Iras car makes more HP than your MX5 and weighs only 24XX.. It would seem to suggest something is wrong there. Great car to run majors and have fun, but at Runoffs against all the good Hondas.. You will struggle to get on the podium or even top five as more and more STL cars are showing up.

What could have been a miserable experience for both of us turned into an absolute blast. My shifter got stuck in turn one when I went from 3rd to 2nd gear. Entire field passed me by while I drifted out of harms way trying to get it to unstick. Sorry about the carnage this had to cause as I am sure I was in the way of everyone at this point.
If you want to understand the word TEAM watch Danny's video. Without each other we would not have gotten nearly as far up the field as we did. Danny would pick me up if I had a bobble and I would wait if I thought I was going to break his draft. I would also wait to make passes that would keep us together instead of trying hero passes that would split us. Sometimes we got split but he would find his way back to me and away we would go again. Sorry I made the big mistake in roller coaster with one to go as I think we had one more pass in us. At the very least we could have raced hard for P9. Honestly just lost a bit of concentration and need to correct that. I will post my video as well so you can see something other than my rear bumper.

WOW, what a great way to start off my season after having been out of an SM for over seven months. I have to first thank Kessler Engineering, Carbotech brakes, Mazda, Hoosier, and TAIT. To come out of VIR with the NE Majors point lead (I suspect) right off the bat feels great. Congrats to Sellin and Dillon on the wins.
It will be a few days if not next week until I can get both races up in 360VR and POV. In the meantime, my live stream is reviewable at the links below.
Saturday Race - http://www.ustream.t...corded/85722979
I started sixth both days in the outside row. I had worked with Lamb all race weekend long and we hoped to hook up during the race. We were consistently fast with the exception of Q1 where my tranny blew fluid all over my clutch and slipped badly. A gap opened to the inside at the green flag and I moved over eventually splitting Yannis and Carter entering turn 1. I fell into line in 4th and ran there for a few laps. Todd eventually caught up and ducked in behind him. Sellin and Andrew had gaped us by about two seconds and we were able to track them down and pass both. Once in the lead and hooked up I thought we'd be golden until I messed up my exit of hogpen and got freight trained down the front straight. I saw the incident at south bend coming and was off throttle until I cleared everything. My opinion about what happened here is irrelevant. My hometown (Lancaster PA) mate Haldeman picked me up exiting Oak Tree and we passed Dillon on the back straight. None of us knew it was the last lap and Chris pushed me across in second.
Sunday Race - http://www.ustream.t...corded/85753059
The start was much more organized than Saturday. It looked like Dillon got bumped a bit in turn 1 which bottled people up. I managed to enter turn 3 in fourth and watched Sellin slide off track. Exiting oak tree I dropped two wheels off and lost my momentum behind Yannis which backed me up to Andrew. As Yannis attempted to draft past Dillon mid way down the back straight Andrew picked me up, gave me a shot, and I aimed for the single car width available at track left entering the brake zone for the roller coaster. I had enough momentum to clear Yannis and Dillon and take the lead. From there Dillion and I settled in and tried to get away. Eventually Andrew tracked us down and the two of them shuffled me back to third. Out of no where I believe Blake made his way to fourth and pushed me past Andrew/Dillon and back to the lead. From there Dillon and I settled down and worked together. We managed to pull away and save out battle for the last lap. He made the pass on the left entering the roller coaster which I didn't strongly defend. We exited the roller coaster virtually touching nose to tail and I backed off of him entering hog pen to leave a gap to form my run. Unfortunately I left too big of a gap and couldn't make it all up by the start finish. I managed to get to his left rear corner but that's as close as I got.
Thanks again to everyone I ran with this weekend for keeping it clean (with me anyway), there were a lot of damaged cars at the end of the weekend. It was great working with you Todd, sorry your weekend didn't go better. Stay tuned for more video updates.

Nice job Tyler.
Lots of good clean racing in the field, and also some poor racing that resulted in protests, and probation for Carbonell for agressive blocking to let Selin win (not to mention spinning Charbs on the cooldown lap). I may be the only one with the nerve to say it publicly, but there are plenty saying it behind the scenes - the championship this season has been tainted by BSI's tactics and Stu is on record saying Carbonell was hired to block for Selin. I don't have plans to run any more races in the near term so I hope someone else steps up to the plate and throws paper if this happens again. This goes beyond defensive driving, beyond teamwork; it's downright reckless and disrespectful to the rest of the competitors.

Not a problem I ever had to deal with in sprint cars. No mirrors effectively means no blocking. I have seen someone spun on the cool down lap. It got handled behind the haulers. I know, this racing is much more civilized..............

And for a "pro Mazda driver" to try to drive me into the grass after driving half throttle up the esses to hold the field up. Shameful.
