Besides racing in SM, this was my first year as race chair for the Majors at GingerMan. I'd like to hear what you liked and didn't like about your experiences this weekend. You won't hurt my feelings if you have some constructive criticism.

 

I will start.

1) Scales were screwed up Saturday.

2) I was put in the wrong spot on the grid for Sunday's race(3-spots back). Even though I told the grid chief and showed him the official grid, no change was made and nobody apologized.
3) I witnessed a steward yell at a driver.

From my 2 cent perspective when cars get trashed like they did in the Sat. Spec Miata race and no one's license got dinged (drivers or officials), somethings not in order with respect top GCR 6.11. Rules Of The Road/GCR 6.11.1. On Course Drivers Conduct.

Bench The Region does not control the Stewards decision making. The region is the ground crew, National is the decision making manager. They call those shots, specifically the series Chief.

 

Jeff i thought the event was well run, I do not know how others feel but the Friday night practice was a good idea.

 

Having registration open at 3:30 and no express Tech window till 5:30 was not efficient IMO. But all were friendly helpful.

 

Lastly, maybe the Driver getting yelled at deserved it.

Overall I felt it was ok. A few points:

-the free test session Friday was great, was a good incentive to sign up early.
-registration open early was great
-seems we were short on trash cans
-no PA made the driver meeting hard to hear. (SCCA had theirs but it was broken).

Yes it is, just wish there were more that would reach out to drivers for their feedback this way

That is because Jeff is one of the few drivers who get involved. I have been on our race committee for several years to bring the drivers perspective to the equation. You should take a close look at who is putting on your events. not being critical, i am saying more of us need to get involved.
