We currently have 11 cars registered in SM for the final Majors round at NJMP.  Who else plans to go?

I need 1 point to make the run-offs, couldn't make Ohio,Watkins, and Pitt majors due to family commitments.

So NJMP is my last chance, so I am there for 4 days!!

It's a fun little track with lots of runoff and a very nice facility.  One of my favorites right after WGI and VIR.

My personal opinion is that it cost more to attend a NJMP Major race, and there are plenty opportunity to race NJMP. 

12 Hour 

June 4-5 Regional 

July 22-24 Major

August Regional 

October Regional 

 

I know Nasa already had a few events there also, plenty of opportunity to race NJMP, maybe thats why the car count is low. 

 

Maybe they need to look at a different track here in the northeast. To bad Monticello is a private club, that would be a blast to drive in a major event.

The NJ Major had good attendance in 2013 (I think it was that year).  The general consensus was that it isn't a "Bucket List" track.  I think it's fun.

 

The cost/time factor is always an issue.  I'll have to look at specific numbers, but I think I just spent a similar amount to do the 2-day July Sprints (SM and Pro-IT) as the 3-day Major (SM and STL) at Watkins Glen.

 

Monticello is awesome.  Drove my Audi TTS there about 5-6 years ago.
