Low idle after maf relocation

I turned the MAF on its side as suggested and the car idles much lower than previous, returning it to right side up cures the low idle. I was told turning the MAF on its side will help prevent loading up in turns, has anyone else encountered this and if so anyway to cure the low idle. Any info appreciated thanks.
