What is it?

It's called TrackR. It is a state-of-the-art tracking device the size of a quarter. It's changing the way we keep track of the important things in our lives.

Um, it's bluetooth technology so the range is going to be something like 50 feet. Maybe less.

If an item goes missing, TrackR's Crowd GPS network will help you find it. When another user of the TrackR app comes within 100ft range of your lost item, you will receive a GPS update of where your item is.

Forgot your phone again? Custom 2-way separation alert notifies you before you leave items behind!

 

^ I assume if your in range and somebody starts to take it, as it goes out of range the Alert would go off.

But yea, a little disappointing.

I use Tiles. Very similar to TrackR. Spoiled now - iphone, ipad, wallet, keys are all Tiled up. Iphone and ipad use the Tile App not physical Tiles.These are an awesome time saver when locating things in the office or house. They are not always perfect though. Haven't needed the crowd gps function yet but I almost want to plant a Tile somewhere public to test it out. These should work great as a low cost lo-jack. Tiles are about $20 ea in qty 4 or so. No separation feature (yet) on the Tile.

To acheive critical mass, they need to hook up with Waze and other navigation apps to automatically id and report wayward TrackRs.
