I just received this email:

Hoosier Super Tour Competitors:

Please be aware that registration for the March 24-26 Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA Super Tour event at Circuit of the Americas will open at 6 p.m. Central Time on Sunday, February 19.  Initial registration for this event will be capped at 50 cars per Group.  Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.  After the cap has been reached within a Group, a waiting list will be created and additional drivers may be allowed to register pending paddock space.  Wait-listed drivers allowed to register will be contacted no later than five days after registration opens.

Spec Miata and the SRF/SRF3 Groups may be allowed up to 75 entrants depending on availability of paddock space.  All other Groups will remain in the 50 to 60 competitor range due to space restrictions.

Please plan ahead and prepare to register Sunday if you plan on competing at the March 24-26 Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA Super Tour event at Circuit of the Americas.

There is not a test day scheduled for this event.

Registration for this Lone Star Region event will be on MotorsportReg.com  (this is a change so I'm notifying my SM buddies here).

If anyone knows how to successfully register 2 different cars in 2 different classes with the same driver, please post instructions.  Any time I register for the 2nd car, the 1st car entry is kicked.  This issue has been ongoing for years with the only solution being a manual entry after contacting the SCCA about the issue.  This doesn't seem plausible for this event given the group count restrictions.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,

Matt

Don't know how the events were setup before but on MSR generally each Region supports for a second entry. The catch is you don't "register again" (if you did that on MSR, you would be editing your original registration and switching it to another car/class instead of adding a second entry). Rather you select both entries on the form at the same time. For COTA, you'll enter both entries when you register and submit the form and payment once.

I am not expecting a large field for this event. The track is just not worth the hassle and aggravation
Anybody who has never been to cota hear this...... bring lots of spare transmissions. 2nd gear 6 times per lap.

The track is simple enough we shouldn't have to worry about practice day, plenty of passing opportunities so where  you qualify isn't super important......... so we should probably start planning the extracurricular activities.  Sebring was a blast so no reason we cant tear up the night life in Austin.  One of the rich guys hire Carbonell to coach you so he can have an excuse to come to town.

To be honest, I was the sober one watching all the activity.  If the Mayor (Mark Gibbons) and Charbs are at an event, it is really a party disguised as a race.  If we can get Balake to hammer a few drinks we have the makings of an excellent reality TV series.

You must be hanging out with the wrong crowd then.  Come hangout with the Autotechnik/old dogs crew next time cause we are always closing the bar down!  The makeup wasn't fun though!

Hell, we have been kicked out of the winghouse at Daytona twice in the last year!
