Hallett Motor Racing Circuit is a 1.8-mile, 10-turn road racing course in the rolling Osage Hills of North Eastern Oklahoma. It is located 35 miles west of Tulsa and has over 80 feet of elevation change. It has wide, grassy runoff areas and zero concrete or Armco barriers. Hallett is unique in that it can be run in either clockwise or counter-clockwise directions making it two completely different race courses.

I love the track, I love the people that run the track and they do an awesome job with the event. There is no better Sm race track IMO.  However, I am making a herculian effort to make this race. No one else on my team is interested in going because the fields have been so small. The fields are so small because people dont come because the field is small. :( I am doing it back to back with VIR. If they dont get 20 cars this year,  I just cant come back next year, which is sad, but it will be my last trip.

Hopefully it picks up. 9 cars at this point is pathetic, we can and should do better for such a great race track run by those who actually treat us well and want our business.

Jim

why have the fields been so small - is it the track location, is it hard to get to, is it tough on cars? If, as you say it is such a great track to race, why are the fields so small? Every track that I go to that is fun to race attracts a decent field, so I am really curious about Hallet.

Hallet is the busiest track ever to drive. No straights 28 lap races with no place to rest. Incredibly challenging and there for fun to race on. Location is pretty bad as there isn't even food within 25-30 min. Also very far from the majority of the racers in this region. All that said I go every chance I get and highly recommend it for everyone.

Add me and Chris to the list.

I think the main reason it isn't well attended is:

3. Hard on cars,

2. Middle of nowhere

1.  !!!! week before VIR.

If i didn't have a conflict with my daughter's volleyball tournament I would be at VIR the next week and not at Hallett, too hard for Chris to turn both cars around so fast if anything goes wrong at Hallett.

It is a very fun Miata track, very racy, plenty of hairy turns to make you pucker.  You would love it in the rain Danny, takes a real big set to go fast, even on Hoosiers.

Front right wheel bearing takes a beating no matter who you are.  Easy replace repair.  Trans can be beat up if you shift like me.

50% increase from last year's entries. I expect a couple more stragglers will show up.

Looks like it will be tougher at the front this year as well.
