Hey all,

 

Who here is on iRacing? 

 

At least once a week, a group of us including Justin Hille, Michael Carter, Preston Pardus, Selin Rollan, Nick Soriano, Spencer Rutherford, myself, and some others have hosted sessions for races we are either preparing for, or just racing together at a random track for fun.  We have a lot of fun! Typically Hille and I are slightly intoxicated when we race, too!  Meanwhile you have pardus and Michael carter still drinkin their juice boxes lol.  I think Danny Steyn races in his full gear, helmet, water bottle, and cool suit!!

 

I was talking to Preston the other day, and we are trying to find more people who race SM so we can host some sessions for fun, and some in preparation for Indy.  It is a pretty good way to get familiar with tracks you haven't been to, or haven't been to in a long time.  Hille always shares his setups too which are really helpful.

 

Respond to here if you are on iRacing it and I will add you on iRacing so I can let you know when we are hosting sessions.  If we got enough of the SM guys on here to race, I bet we could start a weekly league on a certain night running the Global Mx5 cars.  We can maybe mock the Super Tour?

Well, andrew go add all those people in Prestons list above.

I think it would be cool to have a SM racer league on a weekday night. Say a Monday Or Tuesday night or something. Can have it around 10pm EST so it gives time for the west coast guys to get home and hop in. Think like 8-10 weeks with two races a night. And you can have a two week drop so it's not a big deal if you miss one or two.

Just another way for us to get competitive and talk smack

Hi John,

I'm on there occasionally for practice sessions.   I find I'm slower than many of the sim guys b/c I still cringe for myself and the car if I have an off in practice.

Or can I hang with an Atari 2600 and a joystick ??

At the Slinger (WI) Nationals worlds fastest asphalt 1/4 mile last evening Bubby Pollard of GA (couldn't grab his ass with either hand last year, promoters choice to make race, hell of an improvement for 2017) finished 1st place for $9,999.00. 4th place iracing.com sponsored Ty Majeski Seymour, WI of Roush/Fenway racing finished 4th. Coming super star in NASCAR.

 

Track Record for Late Model 11.095 seconds. Under 10 seconds for winged sprint car.

I have never heard of the Seymour guy, but, it has definitely shown that the iRacing "Aliens" can really wheel a car once they sit in one.  I mean, Glenn Mcgee I believe had some karting experience as a kid but nothing really that big, if I recall correctly.  And there is no doubt that he did very well for his first season in a pro race series.  

 

Justin Hille is an alien in iRacing too.  We did a hosted session a couple months ago which had some of the new Honda American F4 drivers in it.  We were in a Star Mazda formula car at Mid Ohio ... and I ran the same times as them.  Hille on the other hand, was faster than all of these "Pro Drivers" by over a second.  

 

Preston Pardus and Michael Carter are very very good at iRacing too ... and I think it would be fair to say that you can contribute some of the success they have had this past year to the online sim racing.

Preston created a private FB Group for this SM iRacing we are trying to do and I am going to try to add everyone over the next couple days.  I will still post when we will race on here for you people that don't have Facebook. 

 

I would like to try to get a teaser next week on lets say, Wednesday night, and see how many are interested.  Will keep you all in the loop!
