So let’s be clear...
Is this a race other than the SM champs race worth $$$ or this is the SM champs race worth $$$ ??

And I’d say qual on stickers, get marked coming in and race on what you qual’d on.
And if there’s qualifying races then it’s a different bag of tricks.

good idea, but you are safe :)

First any way you slice this, thanks to Toyo as this will shine a spotlight on Sm which is great. I really enjoyed the NASA Champs this year,  but with this type contingency.. They need some independent and full time tech staff. Take $3500-5000 out of the contingency or whatever it takes to get an independent and fully qualified tech staff together for the weekend. This is not a shot at Xavier,  He did an excellent job. But with real money on the table, the tech should be completely independent and not a volunteer who is also racing etc.  Just my 2 cents.

Also, curious to read the fine print.. it says up to 80,000? Does that mean you need to win pole, both qualifying races and set fast lap etc? Or just win?

Will they allow 25 heat cycle RA-1s from 2008?

To repeat what Johnny asked...because I have read the announcement several times as well...is this a separate race? Or is this SM with a huge sponsor only for the class(single race class/group)?

I have a feeling the $80k red mist will set in and half the field will come into pits with a bunch of new dents on the car. Too bad they don't offer this purse to other classes.

Yeah, too bad :burst:  I bet everyone on this forum can hardly sleep at night about that :) They have saying the same things about Sm since before you left.. The last several Runoffs with the same payout and 10x the competition of the other classes  have been some of the cleanest races and have been caution free.
I don't think the damage will be much worse imo, it will only matter to about 10 people in that race. We shall all see.
