Aim drop shipped the unit to my house with the wrong cable. Sounds like Winding Road will take care of it. So far it looks like a nice unit otherwise.

Now I just need to 3D print a nice bracket for the Miata and mount it.

I figured I would circle back on this topic see if anyone else has this problem.

My AIM Solo 2 DL loses charge quite fast while the unit is powered off. If I fully charge my DL and then power it off for a few days, when I turn it back on it's almost dead.

Anyone else have the same issue?

Mine stays in the car and gets power from the OBD2 port when the key is on but not sure if this is an option for you.

Call the AiM office in VA. Their tech support is usually very good.

I do power it from the car, but I don't like that $700 device has poorly designed battery circuit. I will contact AIM and see what they say.

Does the Solo 2 DL give any meaningful data off the OBD port for a spec miata?  When the Solo DL came out 5-6 years ago the discussion was that the OBD output in a 1999-2005 car wasn't fast enough to be worthwhile for data logging.

No that part didnt change---You can now add a tach input and also then use the unit for shift lights. Some signals--even slow are OK---temp for example... We have one in our Champcar and I think it works great for it..

IIRC there was a fix for the Solo battery issue on the AIM User Facebook page. It was quite a while ago and may have been just a firmware update.
