I'd like to run my '95, but it's still without an engine. Should be ready by the Mid-Ohio event though.
SVRA Takes the Miata Heritage Cup to Road America
Series for first-generation Spec Miatas has proven a popular addition to Sportscar Vintage Racing Association events
The Sportscar Vintage Racing Association’s Mazda Miata Heritage Cup makes its second annual stop at Wisconsin’s scenic and challenging Road America circuit. Given the reception that the event received among the first-generation Spec Miata racers last year, it’s no surprise the Heritage Cup is returning.
“It’s such a great track, an iconic track,†says Tony Fornetti, who finished second in last year’s event at Road America. “To run there all weekend and have the test day included, the meal on Saturday as well, it’s a fantastic value to run at a beautiful racetrack like that. We’ll do Road America and VIR in the Fall as well. The atmosphere is what we really enjoy. It’s a nice weekend, relaxed weekend, competitive and fast.â€
The Miata Heritage Cup runs on many SVRA weekends, and the event runs alongside groups such as historic Trans-Am and sports racers and a host of vintage production cars. Competitors get a practice and qualifying session on Friday, qualifying and race on Saturday, and a race on Sunday, all under SVRA’s strict no-contact rules.
The Spring Vintage Festival takes place at the historic four-mile, 14-turn Road America circuit in Elkhart Lakes, Wis., this weekend. After Road America, the Miata Heritage Group will join SVRA events at Mid-Ohio and VIRginia International Raceway, plus the non-points “Slaying the Dragon†hillclimb in Robbinsville, N.C. in October.

Great fun had by all.
The Planet Miata crew shared tent space with Advanced. We are so hospitable that we even let Marc win!!!!!!
3 cars ran together up front, Marc (1.8), Voytek (1.6) and Tony Fornetti (1.6) in both races. Saturday ended with a side by side finish, while Sunday's spread was a couple car lengths.
Typical Wisconsin weather, rain, clouds, hot, sun, cold and fog. But at least no snow. Great party at Ohstoff resort put on bt SVRA on Friday night.
World record for oil dry usage, almost 400 bags. 4 major oil downs over the weekend. We spent an hour on false grid for the first one on Thursday, after a formula car lost a drain plug and oiled the line from turn 4 (Sargento bridge) all the way into the pit lane.
Looking forward to Mid Ohio

Sat Results 11 cars. Hmm, for the entry cost including test day $3??.00, surprise not more cars. Dave, does this require better promoting by we in the SCCA/Midwestern Council so that NA owners understand the value.
