2018 ND CUP presented by Long Road Racing

Regional Racing Series Announced by Long Road Racing
Long Road Racing will PAY your entry fees if you want to PLAY!!!!

Long Road Racing in conjunction with the NASA Mid Atlantic Region, announces the formation of the 2018 ND Cup presented by Long Road Racing.  The ND Cup is for the 2016+ (ND) Global MX-5 cup race cars.
The only thing better than racing is FREE racing!  Long Road Racing (LRR) will pay the entry fee for ALL ND Cup drivers competing in the 2018 ND Cup races.

Is your entry fee paid for if you only race one weekend?  YES
Are your entry fees paid for if you race ALL of the weekends?  YES.
To participate in this amazing new race series, follow these 3 easy steps:
Hold or acquire a current NASA Membership and NASA Competition License.
Enter any of the remaining 2018 NASA Mid Atlantic races (Just tell LRR you are racing – Info@LongRoadRacing.com) and LRR and NASA will take care of the rest.

Show up in a Global Mazda MX-5 cup car and race!!!
LRR will provide trophies for this race series; and wait for it… a year-end special Air-Freshener Trophy!  Who doesn’t need an air freshener in an open car?  Of course, it’s OK to run the Mazda Motorsports hard top.

Each NASA weekend has two races.   There are three dates on the schedule so you can get 6 RACES. Run as many races as you like.  If you run all three weekends you not only compete to win the air freshener, but also win the bragging rights of all your buddies.

Rules:
Show up in a global MX-5 cup car: with or without a hardtop
Have a supercharger or sequential? – we’ll work out the details
Follow NASA ST-5 rules
Follow the GMX-5 homologation document
BFGoodrich DOT approved dry tires (BFGoodrich homologated rain tires)
BFGoodrich Contingency Program (click here for info)
Participants will be registered as NASA ST-5 cars and appear that way on the NASA MA results however…
LRR will sort the GMX-5 cup cars out into ND Cup results and points
Trophies, podium pictures; and of course, the coveted Championship Air Freshener will be awarded by LRR
In addition, all drivers will ALSO be considered as ST-5 drivers and be eligible for existing, NASA ST contingency programs.  It a 2-fer!
It’s that easy!  Run the ND Regional Racing Series with NASA Mid Atlantic. Make a run for the Championship Air Freshener! Make it fun… just make it happen!

With NASA going away from all PT classes converting them to ST this is a good effort to keep those cars coming out. PTC went away this year and those cars should now be ST5...but this change has not gone over so well...car count is minimal for ST5. I also believe PTD and PTE go away this year with ST6 being added for next year. On average the ST rules seem a little more on board with open mods and a HP/WT per class...getting away from the necessity to maintain specific stock or similar items that PT required.

I get why LRR wants to keep the ND cars at the track(other than the cup series)but I'm sure there are many NC cars out there that could come into the ST5 world and have a lot of fun! Good move on this NASA region to actively go after some of those cars sitting out there!
