Get yer NAs out.

NAs are slow and can't be raced.

This was a great weekend, lots of fun and good racing. If you have a 1.6 or NA 1.8 sitting in the shop, get it out and come play. You will have some fun.
Looks like fun.
I just signed up for the SVRA Mazda Miata Heritage Cup race at Auto Club Speedway (formerly California Speedway) on April 27-28. $325 for two days of racing at that track (a NASCAR track) is a bargain.

Jamz, you should be there, too!
Gotta get this field to grow, guys. Get those 1.6's out of mothballs, and back on track! Great fun, good group of participants, and no longer the "race within the race". It IS the race.

Seems like there’s some kind of secret society around SVRA Miatas. I’ve emailed them a few times to get scheduling and membership info with zero response. Is it worth the trouble if they’re that obtuse toward Miatas? I don’t know.
Given it's vintage racing, maybethe organizers are a bunch of old dinosaurs that don't do email. They do list a telephone number on the site prompting one to "Register by Phone"...

Which event are you interested in?
You don't need to be an SVRA member to compete in the Mazda Miata Heritage Cup Race. You do need a current comp license from a vintage race org or the SCCA, NASA, etc.
Have you contacted Rick Parent (rick@svra.com)? He responded to my email.
Here's the entry form for the Auto Club event later this month. It contains some useful info regarding membership, medical, driver orientation program for drivers new to vintage racing, etc.:

Kathy has always gotten back to me promptly (not necessarily the same day).

Thanks guys.

I've been in contact with all Midwest sanctioning body's over the last two years. Other than SVRA's Road America and Mid-Ohio dates no one appears interested.
Its ironic that both coasts support Miata's in Vintage but nothing in the middle

SVRA races only, nothing to do with Mazda other than Mazda supports Miata racers through SVRA.
I couldn't find any info on tech inspection. I haven't yet gotten an SCCA annual tech for my car. Do they require a NASA or SCCA logbook with current annual or will they do tech inspection there?
