I want to make this post so people can post any information they have about contingency in 2019. I think this might help the community avoid some of the details that require scouring all these documents scattered around the internet.

 

First reminder I have for people is that the rules for Mazda Contingency changed slightly. You can no longer have the 22 inch decal on the front of your car. It MUST be the 16 inch one. I would hate for someone to lose contingency for a change like this.

 

 

The Mazda race vehicle must be logo compliant – as follows: a. Sports cars: New requirement for 2019: The 16-inch Mazda decal is to be placed on the front nose or front hood of the race car. The 22-inch Mazda decal is to be placed on both rear fenders/quarter panels; to order the decals (color-specific), the part numbers are: 0000-10-0022-XX (for 22-inch) and 0000-10-0016-XX (for 16-inch). Does anyone know if Mazda is doing that majors points $30k purse thing that they did last year? The one no one knew about lol.

Also, everyone should try to be in compliance with the Mazda contingency because there is a "Penske Shock Bonus" this year. The $125 payout goes quite deep (in some divisions it's paid to 35th place), so if you bought Penskes there is a good chance you could win a little money back.

One other change I noticed between 2018 and 2019 which is not specifically highlighted is that the Mazda Tow Fund no longer applies to the top 3 in Divisional points. Only the Division winner gets access the tow fund. I knew I should of made use of that last year, damnit!
