Has anyone found diff bearing cap bolts (9979-61-050A) source (higher quality like ARP).  Have found Mazda bolts stretch after repeated reuse.

Thanks

The Honda S2000 bolts are stronger.  If you don't increase the torque it is of little consequences though.  You have to grind down the flange but other than that, they are a direct replacement.  I upped the the torque by 10% as it is a 10.9 bolt.

What torque spec are you using?  There was a typo in the early 1.6 FSMs that caused some havoc.

SaulSpeedwell is right, that is how I found the S2000 bolts.  They are not necessary because the incorrect specification causes you to over torque them causing them to stretch or yield.  If the torque creates a clamp load that exceeds the working load, then all is good.

I did replace them :) -- I have different R&P for different tracks -- Like COTA (if you going to be in second might as well be longer than a second)

when I ran my stl miata, I ran a 4.44 pretty much everywhere.. I put that 4.77 for cota and it was magic. I had one timed lap before my starter failed ( after the rod blew it off the block)  It was 1-1.5 seconds clear of the stl field for the entire weekend :(  It sure was nice. I never ran that car there again :(

I am 100% honest about it. If the car is anything other than a spec Miata the 4.77 is the way to go.
