Just a heads-up for folks here who may have a first-gen Spec Miata collecting dust in their garage.  The SVRA is having its Mazda Miata Heritage Cup for NA 1.6 and NA 1.8 Spec Miatas on April 26-28 at Auto Club Speedway in sunny southern California.

With the $100 Mazda contingency rebate, the entry fee is $225.  Heck of a deal!

I'm planning on being there with my '97 SM and hope to see folks from here, too.

In the provisional schedule, which group is the Miata Heritage?  Does the entry fee include the test day like in the past?  I have paid separately for the test day the last two years and it turned out it was covered in the MH entry fee.

This might be the wrong place to be asking these questions, but thought I would try.

Carl, SVRA told me last week that the entry this year does not include a practice day.  We run out east but I assume it is the same in Calf.

I'm not sure which group the Miatas will be in.  I can ask.

Interesting, previous to this Auto Club Speedway race the Miata's had their own group.

The Heritage Mazdas have their own run group. Likewise on the practice day fees at Road Atlanta March 28-31. It was included last year, but not this year. Overall, all has gone up a bit, but still great value. Looking at 2 1/2 hours of track time, for $250. This is getting fun. I apparently still need Penskes, though. Oh well, it'll give me something new to tinker with, gripe about, and create drama...

Why do you NEED Penske shocks for SVRA?

PS, provisional schedules are useless.

I did ask SVRA and they will get back to me on the run group and the test day is not included.  Thanks for the responses.

Should be another fun weekend.

SVRA Miata Heritage Cup rules are SCCA Spec Miata rules. Therefor when Penske shocks are SCCA required they will be required in SVRA events.

No deadline set for phasing-out Bilsteins for SCCA regional competition.
