Driver Conduct

It happened twice more on Sunday so it is obvious that this is how this driver chooses to race.
When I say “squeeze”, I don’t mean the driver chooses his lane while in front of you, but actually turns left or right while you are along side.
I was unable to speak to this individual person to person after yesterday’s race, and I am hoping that it is a just a case that the driver simply doesn’t know what he doesn’t know. We’re racing for $5 plastic trophies and enjoyment, not to tear up cars. I am hoping the driver reads and understands the following from the GCR. If not there will be paper thrown the next time out.
6.11.1
A. Drivers are responsible to avoid physical contact between cars on the race track.
B. Each competitor has a right to racing room, which is generally defined as sufficient space on the marked racing surface that under racing conditions, a driver can maintain control of his car in close quarters.
C. Drivers must respect the right of other competitors to racing room. Abrupt changes in direction that impede or affect the path of another car attempting to overtake or pass may be interpreted as an effort to deprive a fellow competitor of the right to racing room.
D. The overtaking driver is responsible for the decision to pass another car and to accomplish it safely.
E. The overtaken driver is responsible to be aware that he is being passed and not to impede or block the overtaking car.

Do you have any on track video? Not much we can really help with if it stays this anonymous because:
1.) We cant reach out to said driver and say "hey bud, that wasn't very smart. You should fix that or you will wreck your shit, someone else's shit, and nobody will like you."
2.) I bet that driver is not even reading this post, but if he is ... he probably doesn't even think its him while reading this ... and probably doesn't think he did anything wrong all weekend.

But, but, but... in Days of Thunder..
Yeah, but he had a "specially matched" set of tires, so it was OK.

Seriously, though, video from a following car would be the helpful.

It wasn't me. I think if you want to increase participation in SCCA Road Racing, you put up a boxing ring in the paddock. You have a dispute, you glove up and have it out. Run live video on You Tube. SCCA events will be sold out.

this is why you go with low visibility road colored paint, no headlights, sneak by like a ghost in the night...

Add that idea about the boxing to Jeff Luckritz search for making SCCA racing better! Personally, I like MMA. You can kick and stomp their toes.
Seriously, this was a SARRC series race and as Administrator, I want your $$ spent on entries fees not repairing unnecessary body damage. Email me at jcreig53@mindspring.com and I will ask the operating stewards at the next races to keep an eye out for this behavior. Heck, we will not allow this at the short track series races where I also work. One warning and your gone.
And another observation from VIR. I saw at least 10 cars sustain serious body damage on the Friday test day. And I know at least half those cars did not race because of the damage. It makes no sense to me to damage your car on a test day. Yes, you want to go fast but not at the risk of taking yourself out of an event while testing. Almost the same with qualifying. No points awarded (except Daytona!!!)

Add a wet T-shirt contest too.
