I have nationwide insurance multi car policy added the trailer for full coverage and it costs about 13.00 per month. No reason not to carry it.

Last September I had my trailer, stored indoors next to the motorhome, broken into. The trailer was loaded with everything because I was getting ready to go to VIR. Lost all, and I mean all, of my tools, jack, a top tool box and even a set of rain tires. When I called my insurance company.....guess what, I had no coverage. The reason was it was part of my motorhome insurance and it was not attached to the motorhome at the time of the robbery.
You have to read the policies very carefully to find out what and how the trailers and contents are covered. I have changed the policy completely, was not really a price increase, but it now covers what I need the policy to cover. I have the RV and trailer with Progressive and they really worked with me after all that.

Hagerty has been good (Cheap ~$50/year) for my race car and they have trailer insurance as well.

Echoing Hagerty as they're now a preferred insurer for SCCA members.
And I'm not being a shill but trying to reinforce one of the benefits we receive.
If we don't use them, they won't find value in partnering with the club in the future.
