At a track known for being HP dependent, and of course draft and team mate dependent also, this video should really show just how competitive an NA 1.8 can be

Yup - letting your team mate or dancing partner know that you have to do the switcheroo is critical - temps get up to around 230 in the draft, but drop down to 190 as soon as you get clear air. Yet back in 2015 at the Daytona runoffs, Erik Stearns was able to push me for multiple laps, but I have no idea how. I can only push for one lap max, and that has been consistent across my 99, VVT and now the Rossini NA 1.8

 

In Sunday's 2nd race, Preston didn't do the switcheroo with one lap to go, giving himself position to do the sling shot, but if I recall correctly, he said it got HOT!

Don't all versions of these cars except maybe 1.6 pull timing above a certain temp and won't resume "normal" timing until the engine water temp drops well below anything close to normal operating temp?

 I do :)  We have Daytona version radiator we used for that runoffs and all of our cars used both fan assemblies   

And non of my guys, especially Eric are all that good at looking at their guages :)  just lap times and predictives
