The Mazda guys didn't know the seat dimensions but it is posted on the MPI site here:  https://www.maxpapis.../mpi-mxp07-mzd/

I had a Sabelt Taurus (medium) that fit well but was a bit too tall.  Wondering how it compares to other seats.

Seems competitively priced if it proves relatively durable. I don’t see any reference to the seat back angle though.

If I didn't have my Kirkey I'd definitely go for this at that price point.  Sat in at at the run-offs, was very comfortable!

This looks like a very nice seat and I looked at it at the runoffs.  If someone buys one please let us know how it fits.  This was my only concern.

I’ve been trying to order one but site keeps rejecting my attempts. The error is vague but implies card info is invalid. Naturally I checked and rechecked but no luck. Asked my card company and they see no rejection at their end or reason for the problem, and of course I use this card pretty much daily. I may eventually order by phone.

Don't want to get too personal but I wear 33"  waist pants. How would my size compare to yours fitting in the seat?

Thanks

Jack

The seat looks promising. I ordered this seat back in early Dec., and have been following up with MPI every week regarding shipment status and apparently, it still hasn't cleared customs in China. It has't shipped yet as of last Monday, Jan. 20th.

I've been waiting on this seat so I can get my roll cage installed but I'm starting to look at alternatives since I'm starting to feel like this isn't going to arrive in time to allow me to finish my car before the season starts.

Anyone else order this seat?

Sale ends 1/31, for those interested.  I'm planning to order one, though with these coming from PRC, that explains the price point.

Just for the sake of argument, where are some of the rest of composite seats like  OPM, RaceTech, Sparco,etc.....made? I use aluminum seats so I don't pay much attention to composite seats, although I am very curious about the MPI seat for use in a future car.....

Just got off the phone with MPI - rep said the seats were made in Spain, not China.  The suit is made in Italy.

(She wasn't sure, but the discount on the suits, she thought, was through the end of the month (2 days)).

My mistake, I was told otherwise. Hopefully they've finally cleared customs so they can get into customers' cars soon.

Got a call from Mazda Motorsports this morning. The seats are finally starting to arrive from Europe but will need to get to MPI first and then get drop shipped to customers. ETA for customers, is currently set for end of the Feb.

Mine arrived today. It looks like the picture, more than that may have to wait. I hope to fit it into an NA6 with the early Miatacage kit (or knockoff) using floor-mount main hoop. It that doesn’t work it will go in another NA6 with a shelf-mount hoop. Ultimately I’d like to use it in my vintage IMSA GTU RX7.

I took time to drop the new seat at the shop this morning. It’s a definite no-go for the NA6 with floor-mount main hoop despite that car having the trans tunnel notch-panel. I didn’t really expect it to go back far enough for me but it won’t even set down onto the floor. The initial limitation is the width at the front. Even if it could drop all the way to the floor, the halo prevents it from moving back enough for someone taller or with long legs. If you are under 5’ 10” and evenly proportioned you might make it work with a similar cage.

Interesting that it didn’t fit your NA6. What seat brackets are you using?

I’ll post up my fitment tests once I get my seat and cage installed. I’m planning on using the PCI race bracket and Advanced Auto deluxe cage with my seat: https://www.pci-raci...5-mazda-mx-5-2/
