Fitting New Halo Seat

Hello - I am in the market for a new seat, the old one is past it's prime and I am looking at a Halo style.  I know it's hard to answer this, but how best to tell if a seat will fit my car, short of buying one and test fitting.  My (1999) roll cage is attached to the parcel shelf and the side bars protrude into the doors if that makes a difference.  I am looking at the Max Papis, Kirkey 71300, or Ultra Shield.  I also have the trans tunnel cut and mounting brackets.  Is there generally a brand or style that is more likely to fit? I'm off the the races today and can post pix after the weekend  if it helps.

if the main hoop of your cage mounts at the parcel shelf, you should be able to fit most seats without too much difficulty.  It gets rather tight on cages where the main roll hoop mounts all the way down on the floor board.  

The Max Papis seat looks promising.  I am running an OMP HTE-R seat and it fits the car well even without cutting the trans tunnel.  Fits my fat ass and 36" waist as well.

Have a look at the Sparco pro-adv TS as well, that has a narrower halo, works great in the Miata.

I'm here at Sebring today looking at my car and a few others. My upper hoop is almost pressed against the hardtop and within an inch of the rear window so it sits further back than others I have seen. The hoop above the parcel shelf is several inches behind the edge and is built to allow clearance for a seat to fit into a seat sized notch. So it sounds like I should have plenty of room.

From my research a few years ago, the OMP RSPT was the shortest and narrowest Halo available on the market.

Shortest from reaching forward (and potentially making the window exit area smaller) and narrowest (potentially sticking outside the window perimeter causing net fitment issues).

 

I haven't checked the RSPT-2 for comparison purposes but to echo what Alberto notes, if your main hoop lands on the package shelf you shouldn't have too many issues fitting available Halo seats.

The main hoop on my Old 48 (NA, I'm building a new NB) landed on the floor and constrained the seat options I had but the RSPT fit well with a massage of the trans tunnel and a custom seat bracket on a bare floor (no stock seat mount bumps).

 

I'm 6'3", 225# and fit in Old 48 with this seat but my head wasn't low enough ("in the bars") and I received a head injury in a collision which is why I'm building a new car.
