Wrapping up the winter Vacation races in Florida.
ESR cars for second year in a row won four of four. Congratulations to Preston Pardus on the three wins, Was pretty much the class of the field in all four races.
he finished 1-1-1-5.  I was able to win yesterday and had a 2-dnf-2-1 which worked out well for me as well. All of the races were fun and exciting, no real carnage other than a 4 car wreck in the hairpin on Saturday. i don't remember anything at Homestead really?

Today was a knock down drag out race. Preston should have won it, but with some unintentional contact with me :( on the last lap, he finished fifth. Not the way we drew it up, but at least one of us brought home the win. Congratulations to Tyler Gonzalez on P2 and Elivan Gouliart finishing p3. Great time hanging out with friends we don’t get to see often enough. Some solid weekends for lots of friends and customers. Especially Rich Astacio and Alex Acosta  and Mark Gibbons. Todd had two miserable weekends with problems with his new car, we will get it sorted. New teammate Marcos Vento made constant improvements and is a welcomed addition. Thanks to Mike Hern, Dan Pardus, Jeff Linfert and Frank Rodriguez for all the hard work keeping the cars going all weekend .

Several of the faster guys we expected at Sebring had issues of some sort.  the Xfactor guys, Chris did well in a 3 year old resurrected customer car. A little birdy told me Chris is actually building himself a car for the 2020 season which will make him tough everywhere he goes.  Michael Ross couldn't make test day and had a reassemble quirk pop up that screwed up his first qualifying and it was wet the second, so he was behind the 8 ball most of the weekend.  Not sure what was going on with Danny, but he didn't seem his normal self and was just a tick off both weekends.  I'm sure they will all be on their A games for Cota and Atlanta.

Congrats to all that participated these past two weeks. You all can now say you beat the Current National Champion! :toast:  4 DNFs was not the way Jim or I thought the season would start but no one under our tent worked harder then Jim and the ESR crew to get the car going again. Jim may have been more upset than me.

Preston is driving at a different level and Jim still has "IT" with the win on Sunday!

Be warned, some crazy new talent is entering the SM ranks and they are not playing around.

Again, a BIG shout out to Jim, Mike, Jeff and Frankie for these past few weeks.

First time doing Sebring ever and just dipping my toe in HST this year to see where i stack up. Felt like a vacation with how easy the schedule was! And easily the toughest SM field ive ever run in.

Raw speed on data was good enough to run near the front. Putting it all together for laps consistently at this place is tough though... just wasnt quite there this weekend, and i was definitely not willing to do some of the stuff people were doing to move up in the field... midpack was a bananas place and im definitely driving with my checkbook in mind... my only major dissapointment was that i didnt get significantly quicker lap time wise from thursday to Sunday. Goal was to finish in top 1/3 and bring the car home with no bodywork, 17th and 21st, ill take it...

Was glad to meet some new and old SM friends

Grateful to only use one set of stickers

Stayed with the family at the Chateau (now Seven). Can't recomend it enough!

See you guys at COTA!

First time really at Sebring and boy the racing there gets intense with so many passing opportunities. Had a good practice day but in Q1 people wanted to race instead of qualify and Q2 I was having lots of fun in the wet until I sent it into the wall at T3 :raincloud: . Started 21st Saturday finished 8th, and started 15th and finished 9th Sunday. Can't wait to do it again at Road Atlanta , though further up towards the front  :D

Chuck,

You tried driving all the way to P1 again during our qualifying out lap after your practice time put you further back. I didn't like that. Again.

Aside from that, nice videos, thanks for sharing.

Tyler - I know how you feel, but from where I sit, and as far as I know, none of us have a waiver on track position once the track is green. If I am up front and I dont want anyone from behind to swamp me or tag along, I go. But if I run a slow out lap I fully expect to be swamped by those coming from the back that want to be up there with me, or even get clear ahead of me.

I agree. Just trying to help a young up-and-coming driver understand why no one wanted to work with him in qualifying.

Kind of like when a guy is late to grid, misses the five and held... leaves before he was supposed to and attempts to slot in behind the two leaders to get their draft, misjudges( I hope) it and limits the exit of the trailing car in 17 where I had to pinch it off on the start of their hot lap and then doesn't ever acknowledge it or come over and apologize.  :noidea:  Ironically, that lap was pole as it kept me off Preston at the start of the lap and I was able to draft the entire lap and very little pushing. Agree, track is green, no foul. But IMO, we usually show more courtesy that that and those things always come back on the offending car at some point. Race car drivers and elephants.. :)
