Mine seem to come loose every session. I even put Blue locktite on and they still are backing off and you can hear them rattle in the spherical.

No, but if you do not follow the directions and let the shaft spin when you tighten them you can damage the shock. At this point i would replace those nuts as the next step.

I Just put them on, they would click when you compress the suspension, so I tightened them, then drove up the street in my neighbor hood and they would be clicking again in less that a mile. I tightened them 2 times before loading for the track. At the track they would again start clicking after ever session. It sounds like the whole back end of the car is falling apart, but that’s the only thing I find loose. So far the fronts have been fine, no issues.
I am wondering if I replace with two thin nuts and double nut it, but I don’t understand why mine should be different. If no one else is seeing this.

The nut "bottoms out" when installed...it only goes so far and stops as the shock piston is pulled against the top hat mount(spherical joint). From memory you only see one, maybe 2 threads exposed? You could never double nut it. And when installed with an impact...I just hold shaft with my fingers. When the nut hits bottom the shaft will spin! the nylon should not allow the nut to ever back out!
Ok...that said...I have seen play/looseness when the piece that squeezes the top hat is not correct! The "big nut"!
EDIT...watched Ralphs video posted below by Bench...much better visual illustration of how last nut and washer go on than my words!

I have one shock that is definitely not as tight as I would like. It is the stack up height of the washer that isn't great. Some of the 99 shock hats are not as thick as others, so even after the nut bottoms out and is tight. There is tiny gap in left.

Seems like both rears not maintaining tightness is way outside the normal therefore here's a question. Is the "Mounting Nut Spacer" installed between the monoball/spherical bearing and the Ny-Lok nut? When link is opened enlarge picture to 200% to view all the parts.

Video of assembly to shock hat. Notice first part of video Ralph has all the parts laid out. The near shock is front and the far shock is rear. All parts attaching to the front and rear shock hat are the same.
