I am trying to figure out the best oil pump to get for my '94 1.8 engine rebuild. I have read that the later NB pumps are preferred for higher pressure, but also that they are wider. Do they still fit the early engines or do I need to change other parts as well? Any aftermarket pumps worth looking at? Thanks, in advance for the help!

I would just use the 94 pump. The 01-05 will give you more pressure and will work. But the crank trigger mounting is different ( should you be running it in 96/97 and not 94/95

The stock pump is more than enough imo
