I submitted the following letter today. If you agree, please send one in.  If you would have the qualifications, submit a resume.

Please add a member to the SMAC who campaigns a VVT car. The current make up of the SMAC has some firmly anti VVt and most neutral. The VVt should have a voice on the committee and no I don't want to do and don't even want to put any of my customers on it. But we need someone.   IMO, this bias that you likely don't believe exists on the SMAC has led to a two year long witch hunt waged on the VVT cars.

It is a two minute process to submit a letter

they did not confiscate.  What they did do IMHO was pretty silly though

They did not check bore, stroke or compression or the machining of head.

They came up with some new tools.. a degree wheel and a jig that bolts to the head to mount a dial indicator on top of each valve so they can confirm that each valve opens in time.  I don't see how that doesn't work every time unless someone ground cams ( easily detected on cam doctor) or if someone re indexed the crank key way. No one is doing that. i think it was kind of waste of time, but they  are looking for something. A degree wheel that fit in the car should have been designed, asking a competitor to pull an engine for such a test IMO is over the top. I would no have been happy if I had to do that for something imo so silly.   Maybe its time we do away with the compliance fund and we just protest during the season and just do tear downs at the runoffs?

I chuckled, but then again I’ve always felt we should have a voice in who “represents” us. I put that in quotes because without a voice it’s not really the right word.

I have zero issues with any on Smac. I was instrumental in either appointing or having all current members appointed on SMAC except for Marc. I just think addicting someone who campaigns a Vvt is provably best for all.

Same goes for CCC . Not sure we need them, but I think they are doing what hey feel is needed. I may not agree with done of what they do and the amount of time and money they cost us with checks that are in most cases a waste of time..

The only one I wanted gone was the dumbass class expert in 2018 NASA champs that sold axles like were dq’ed for years and couldn’t drive or prep a car out of a wet paper bag

Doesn't seem like the SMAC needs any additional members.  It seems like what's needed is an intense concentrated effort to solve VVT misfires.  Lot's of people have worked on these cars and these issues in recent years but it seems that nobody has cracked the code yet and collectively across the country there has been a lot of frustration.  Maybe it's time for a collective effort and one that includes some hired talent to dive in. An independent effort.

If 50 people all threw in $100 each that would raise $5K which might be enough to buy some sympathetic expertise for 50-100 hours.  If that discovers some fixes, those can be submitted to the club(s) for approval just as other fixes to other issues have been over the years.

I no longer have a dog in this fight but would gladly contribute $100 to the cause.

I was feeling your pain from your original post on the other thread...and the comment something/someone  needed to be gone. When Chris chimed in his thoughts It made me think of your comment. I knew they werent aimed in the same direction but carried the same sentiment...hence the smiley face!
