My upper exhaust manifold heat shield has broken off 4 of the 5 bolt heads with the bolt bodies stuck in the manifold and the lower shield has broken off the attachment tabs.  Are these heat shields worth spending the time drilling out bolts and buying a new lower shield to make them reattach properly?  
Does anyone run without them?

As you likely know, when doing SCCA it's illegal to not have a heat shield.
