I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on allowing the use of headlight blanks on the NB's. I have been poking around for some headlights and my god are they expensive. I know I'm not the only one that has a spot on the shelf for shattered buckets beyond repair, I cobble my headlights together with wire, rivets, and dreams; praying that Yiannis isn't beside me on track jeopardizing my unborn children's college fund.

 

Would the class be open to allowing the use of formed headlight blanks, possible from 1 or 2 approved manufacturers? The biggest issue I see is the weight discrepancy, blanks would be roughly 7 pounds lighter. There's also the issue with the airflow behind the blank as there would be a large gap where the bucket would be, this would undoubtedly change the airflow to the intake.

My Thoughts are already there Chris.... After 2 shunts in 4 weeks that weren't my direct fault, it really upsets me to think I shot through $600 worth of VVT headlights for no good reason(especially since I hate running in the rain,so I never use them!). I pulled molds off a set and will get a chance to pull some parts from them later this month.  I have no aspirations of running Natl. events such as HST,Majors, or NASA Champs, so I can't see someone having an issue with me running them. If they do..................I could care less.
