I spoke with Tim Gilvin this am and was told that in all likelihood the new Asphalt at Road America WILL blister our tires.
The new asphalt will gennerate a lot of heat in the tire..
Ideas to limit the blistering:
Increased tire pressure, we all typically run on the low side or lower than what Hoosier recomemends, Lower pressure will increase the heat and cause blistering to be worse.
Sticker tires will blister the easiset. It would be in all of our best interest to heat cycle the tires and let them sit.
Run older tires. Typically new Asphalt likes older tires in most cases anyway, but I get it, we all want the best tire we feel we can put on the car
How this effects the tire limitting? No Idea, Im sure it will be addresed and you will be able to replace a blistered tire. This is new information, just from this AM and I was asked to get it out.
Thanks
Jim
