I spoke to a rep at Mazda Motorsports Store about getting 1999 Miata half shafts.

He said Mazda hasn't manufactured them for a good while. He said the ones they used to sell were remanufactured ones from Cardone.

Rock Auto offers Cardone, GSP, FVP, Trakmotive.

Cardone (remanufactured) spec for compressed length is 24.5 inches.

Compressed length for all the rest is 29.53 inches.

That's a difference of 5 inches, which seems like a lot. (I do not have the original ones to measure).

I tried to find the specs for the OEM, out of the factory, part but could not. This would settle the question.

Anybody know anything about this, what is the correct part to get, does it matter, etc?

Thanks.
