As the topic states, I need some help getting my oil cooler off. I measured the nut holding it on and it looks like it is either a 29 or a 30 mm socket. The problem is that it needs a deep well socket and every deep well I have found is an impact socket and the walls are too thick. Does anyone know where I can get a 29 or 30 mm deep well, thin wall socket or something that will take this oil cooler off?

Hi Chris,
I used a standard non deep socket. Stick the socket in all the way and then stick your 1/2" extension in. It will only go in about halfway to the back of the socket before it backs out. That was enough for me to get mine to break loose and it worked fine.

I bought mine from Sears. They have one that works perfectly. I could check when I get home but I think I may have used a SAE socket.

Even more fun, getting the threaded nipple out of the block. I use 2 nuts jammed together. Good luck! Thanks for the help. I'll give it a try tonight.
