NASA Midwest at GingerMan last weekend. 2 Races on Sunday. In the first race, I threw away a P3 in the last turn of the last lap (spectacularly I might add--very Indy like). I was so down and frustrated, I almost packed it in. For the sake of improving my season points (best 2 of 3 results of the weekend count), I gave it the old college try. Ended up with a very unexpected win!

Funny story. The entire race, I was being chased hard by my friend, Ken Brinkman. Both of us are customers of the shop owned by the Rook's dad (shout out to VFC Motorsports). Well, the Rook was content to sit behind us and not get involved in our race since he was well ahead in his class (and if the opportunity arose, he wouldn't be adverse to running alittle interference for me and Ken). Anyway, we come onto the straight and the Rook started to see his competition in the mirror and panicked. He didn't want to race us, so he thought he'd pass us both and, well, you see what happened. His mistake--not knowing how much time was left. Had he known there was one lap left, he had plenty of gap on his competition and could have coasted behind us. Lesson learned--the hard way.

Good thing that sports racer didn't understand what happens around a yellow and almost stopped, allowing you to catch the two cars in front of you :)

Enjoyed the video - thanks for sharing! Any chance you can move the camera further back in the car? It would widen the angle and give us some view of you driving (at least your hands at work) and on the right side of the A-pillar.
