GoPro HD Camera Mod

So, I bought a GoPro HD camera. But, my camera is mounted on the main-hoop diagonal, and I canâ€™t reach it from the driverâ€™s seat while buckled in. This last weekend that meant starting the camera when I got to the grid, then starting the process of buckling up, putting on my helmet, and waiting to be released from the grid. As many people have noted that results in about 8 minutes of dead video at the front of every recording. There has to be a better way!!!

Tom, if you can make these you would make a fortune. This is the one thing everyone does not like about the go pro hd. I'm down for one as well.

I might have to make a real circuit board, if there is that much interest. Small runs don't cost THAT much.

I know people in the bmwcca world that would love to have the ability to turn it on and off with a dash switch. That is the biggest problem with this camera. It's impossible to turn on and off strapped in and you cant hear that stupid beep or see the led.

Once I get the prototype to work, I'll look at productizing it. Needs a little more CARE for handing off to non-EE type folks. I'm comfortable with my own level of risk as a EE. Still a simple thing to do. Would only need about 20 or so orders to make it "cost-effective."
