Beer Making Day!

In Seattle in the early 90s home brew as all the rage. We brewed a bunch.

I typically Brew about 50 gallons a year. Buy, last year was a big zilch.

I've got 20 gallons in carboys right now waiting for my race season to end next weekend. I got way ahead of myself. My very first batch ever won a gold medal in the schooner competition up here

I make IPAs and Pales mainly.

Nice! I suppose I have enough equipment for that much beer (with 3-5 gallon kegs 4-6.5 gallon, and 3-3 gallon carboys, 4-6 gallon, and 5-2.5 gallon fermenters), but I don't keep that much on hand. Holy crap...where did all this stuff come from? I've never added it all up before. In theory, I'm supposed to share some of this with my wife, so she can make wine.

I did a couple series of IPAs a couple years ago. All Single Malt and Single Hop (SMaSH) beers---one series where each batch used a different hop (sterling, cascade, centenial, williamette). The other where I varied the boil time of the hops (using the same hop for each batch). I really like late hop additions.... around 1/4 pound (for 5 gallons) with 15 minutes to go.
