LOOKING FOR ADVICE

At 67 years old one of my bucket list items was road racing, so I immediately went out found myself a 14K low mileage 05 Z51 C6 Vette and spent 10K on 500 RWHP, brakes, wheels and tires. Now after 6 HPDE track days under my belt, two of which are solo I've come to a sinister realization. I can NOT afford this sport with the car I have cause I can't afford to lose an engine, spin it or damage it but I love the experience and want more, more, more ... Hence, here I am, investigating the spec miata class car and thinking about buying one already done and would like all the input anyone and or everybody can give me...
