I was just wondering if anyone has tried converting a Spec Miata back into a street Miata. Anyone out there ever hear of this or try it?

Also, when you built your Spec Miata, did you keep the parts which you removed from the car in the process of converting it to a race car? I'm wondering if there is a glut of interior parts out there somewhere.

Extraneous parts ended up on Craiglist, where they sold surprizingly quick , mostly to people restoring their street Miatas.

I always thought an old SM would make a cool small-bore streetrod, sort of a 'rat racer'.

Does it have a bolt in cage?

If not, then it wouldn't be worth it IMO.

No, I wouldn't set foot / race in a race car which had a bolted in roll cage. The thought was to cut the front of the cage out but leave the rear roll hoop.
