In light of recent events, our desire to upgrade our seat is going to come a little sooner than later! Several others expressed the same sentiment at the last race so I'm going to TRY and work a deal to save those who are interested a few bucks. Please PM me if you are interested and I will give you further details privately. There will be a couple options. Hoping to get 5 people minimum. :yep: Please pass along this info to those who are not or may not frequent the forum!

Not sure if this is a great group buy item. Finding a containment seat to fit with you and your cage is a royal pain.

Ok chicken little :pessimist: :hatchet: :duck: No doubt, but do have 3 manufacture options and the buy can be for any seat made by those. Plus i have seen all these seat brands in Miatas. Can you blame a guy for trying :optimist:

Go for it Ron. Wish there had been a group buy when I got my Sparco Pro ADV. I wound up getting mine from Wine Country on a no-tax weekend. Payed around $800 or so. I splurged on safety equipment when I built my car. I didn't like the design of the AL seats - especially non-full containment - after speaking with pro builders and people involved in race seat manufacturing and fitting. A good seat is cheaper than a hospital visit after all.

RaceTech is over in Sparks Nevada and their seats fit SMs with a TC cage pretty well - especially for a skinny dude like Kyle and JohnnyD. My fat ass didn't fit the regular one and I couldn't find a local wide to test fit. This was a TC recommended seat.

TC also recommended a Recaro seat (forgot which one...) and a place in Berkeley (or was it Oakland) that is the distributor.

I really like my Sparco but it is a bit large. Its very comfy and installed pretty easily. Its too wide for people thinner than me though.

I would think that either place will work with us on a bulk order.

Let me know if you need any help organizing this. I'll be at the last Oct race if anyone wants to check out the seat in person. White #05.
