That's a LOT of races. In my experience online racing leagues work way better with shorter seasons set up with one or two drop weeks to account for real-life schedules.

Hi to all tech gurus

Please excuse the dumb questions as I am a total newbie. Last night I joined hte MX5Cup group at Watkins Glen - only saw one other guy circulating (Riccardo). Did about 20 laps and left. Was I in the wrong place, what did I do wrong? All help greatly aprpeciated

Jim's events are "Hosted" events which can be accessed on the grey menu bar, just below the TEST/RACE boxes. It is the fifth from the left. Click "Join a race" and you will see all the hosted events below. Provided you have the purchased the proper car and track you will see a green box on the right. If it has a lock in it a password is required. Jim has been opening the events under his name and now titles them MX5cup.com. This is totally different from the iRacing series events. For $3 anyone can host 4 hours of track time. This is where much of the fun resides.

I did exactly as you describe last night - Went to HOSTED > JOIN A RACE > Went to the MX5CUP.com bar > Clicked the green checkbox and used the password to enter the hosted event. Only problem just me and another guy there (and he was there for 2 laps) .

Was it just the two of us last night or were there others at someother hosted event?

A bit of miscommunication.. Mike thought Jim was MIA... and it turns out for awhile he was(ice/computer issues) then Jim didn't notice Mike had already started the session. Jim started it at Road Atlanta, Mike at WGI. Played around at Road Atlanta for awhile, had some great fun with very tight racing and little contact.

for those of us new to iracing...and don't already own every track....it would be helpful if we could get 24 notice on what the next session's track is going to be. I know I could buy everything at once, and save some $$$...but, for a variety of reasons, I don't want to do that. That way, I can download the track the night before, and practice a bit.

Lance - how many racers were online in your session last night? And for how long?

Do most join immediately and stay for the whole session or is there a pattern to their comings and goings?

Danny, there were about 6 of us for awhile in a group, we did have 9 or so out at once but the others were playin by themselves. With a 4 hour session folks typically come to go. Prime time seems to be 21:00 to 22:30 or so.

That was me , i didnt see the other hosted session, so i joined the watkins one with you (for a short time, been swamped with work).
